Just stumbled across these gorgeous illustrations by Ping Zhu over at It’s Nice That. I just love those totally whispy Copic-marker-esque inky swashes, not to mention those purple pants! Cute, huh?

I am just loving Joanna Neborsky’s ‘Tumbling Women’ series. It makes me think of traditional Easter European folk art mashed together with colours from the tropics, no? Perfect for springtime, if it ever makes it to Northern Alberta…

LightTexture
Guys! I’m baaaack! It’s been a really busy time around the studio lately and I totally caved in to Pinterest recently on the social media front (feel free to follow me, by the way). We’ve been travelling a bit too - I stopped by the New York International Gift Fair in NYC in January to see what it might be to show there, as well as our annual trip to Arizona with my dad.
Also, Jim and I have started making plans to build an infill house in the character-filled McCauley area of Edmonton within the next few years. Naturally I am looking at a lot of contemporary modernist architecture and you probably shouldn’t even get me started on furnishings. In between scouring everywhere from Blu Dot to my local thrift stores, I stumbled across these jawdropping ceramic chandeliers from LightTexture. It’s a collab between an architect, a lighting designer and a ceramic artist, creating unique designer lamps, lights and chandeliers. I say WOW. We’ve been aiming for building a cheap, well built house but something from LightTexture might be the one splurge!
