A month into this new year and I’m up and up on one of my hopes for the 365 days that we call 2011: draw (and illustrate) more.
Next step: remind people I’m still up for doing their graphic design. It’s been an interesting hiatus, living in Halifax, returning to Edmonton and getting set back up but, ladies and gents, I’m back, cat co-workers and all! You can drop me a note if you’re looking for anything from a business card design to a website to a catalogue, all wrapped up in a unique, colourful approach. My rates are reasonable, and I don’t bite! Talk soon!

We make carpets make…well, not quite carpets. The ‘temporary contemporary carpets’ are made out of surprising materials like uncooked pasta, woodland castoffs and plastic cutlery. Brilliant in form, though also totally impractical, reversing the practice of taking artists’ work and applying it to domestic goods.

Apparently I’m just a sucker for black and white patterns on a mint-coloured background. Claridges hotel just did a rebrand and it’s really delightfully modern. It’s amazing how much London firm Contruct managed to colour with the brand, from the pencils with the custom coloured eraser tips to a merry-go-round horse. Neat.

How lovely are these alphabet plates by Parul Arora? N is for noodles, indeed.
