Illustration, New Work, Pattern

Hey! I’ve got a show up at Transcend on Jasper here in Edmonton. I’ve been sitting on the Supper Settings idea for about a year and it has finally (excitingly!) come to life.
An installation of over thirty hand-drawn plates, two silkscreen prints, several framed drawings and textiles, a large poster print and one honest-to-goodness tree await you and your morning brew for the month of December. Y’all should come check it out! The series is for sale - I am selling the main wall’s installation of over twenty plates, two silkscreened prints and several framed drawings, along with a custom hanging in your home, with consideration to your space’s needs. $500 for all the pieces, and a little extra for the custom install. I can also sell some of the plates individually, so do contact me for details.
And that’s not all, my friends - the process of decorating the plates is foodsafe, so I am accepting commissions for all your culinary needs! You can pop down to Transcend Japser and let me know which ones you like, and I’d be happy to make some plates up just for you.
And with that, I’m off to Vancouver on the train (!!!) for a well deserved break. Ahhhh, sushi…

A month into this new year and I’m up and up on one of my hopes for the 365 days that we call 2011: draw (and illustrate) more.
Next step: remind people I’m still up for doing their graphic design. It’s been an interesting hiatus, living in Halifax, returning to Edmonton and getting set back up but, ladies and gents, I’m back, cat co-workers and all! You can drop me a note if you’re looking for anything from a business card design to a website to a catalogue, all wrapped up in a unique, colourful approach. My rates are reasonable, and I don’t bite! Talk soon!

Don’t miss Veekee Workshop at the Royal Bison Craft Fair this weekend! In addition to the ever-popular Veekee Agendas (bonus: they’re on sale!), it’s also the debut of the Veekee Workshop Folk Art Kitchen textiles. Tea towels, aprons and table runners, all hand-silkscreened with hand painted labels. It’s all 100% high thread count cotton, and the durable textile ink holds up to anything you want to throw at it.
If there’s any left, you’ll be able to find them in the shop after the weekend! Enjoy!

In upcoming news: I’m in the midst of planning a 12-pack of handdrawn, silkscreened wedding invitations, in the same patterned style as the “Where I’m From” poster, but with space for the couple to write thier own names in for that extra-personal touch. Flora and curlicues seem to be a must as imagery, but I might take a pass on the fauna of the world…more in a bit on these!
